Industry events

The seminar entitled “Legally regulated areas in accreditation of laboratories and technical requirements” held by the Polish Centre for Accreditation once again, as last year, enjoyed a tremendous interest and attracted more than 500 people. The conference “Science is a Woman” held by the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Warsaw, Polish Chemical Society and Committee of Analytical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences was another very popular event among the visitors. During the meeting, speakers highlighted that this year is the International Year of Chemistry. They remembered also the renowned Polish scientist Maria Skłodowska-Curie on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize awarded to her. They spoke about her outstanding achievements, career, involvement in research project and personal life. The participants could see an exhibition dedicated to the life and achievements of the famous Pole prepared by Maria Skłodowska-Curie in Warsaw. The Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Warsaw prepared a FPM_6966series of multi-media presentations and experiments entitled “Ionising radiation around us”. Many attendees participated also in the “Laboratory technologies used in international exchange of forensic data” seminar prepared by the Central Forensic Laboratory of the Polish Police. Conferences organised by other exhibitors were also numerously attended. In this group of events, the “Uncertainty of measurements and practical methods of its determination” lecture prepared by Doneserv deserves a special mention as three times as many participants as originally expected wanted to hear it. All seats were also occupied during the “Jobvector career day” forum on perspectives of finding job in research and technology industries and on trends in the labour market. For three days, laboratory diagnosticians could collect credit points by participating in selected lectures including the “Quality and competencies of medical laboratories vs. financing laboratory services in the field of medical diagnostics” prepared by the National Chamber of Laboratory Diagnosticians. In total, 14 course credit points could be collected during EuroLab 2011.

Extensive range of exhibitors

179 exhibitors from 11 countries (Austria, France, The Netherlands, Japan, USA, Sweden, Germany Switzerland, United Kingdom, Italy and Poland) presented their offers. Visitors could examine products and services exhibited directly at the stands in three different categories: Chemical Analysis, Life Science and Metrology. As compared to the event last year, we have recorded a significant increase of interest in our stand. At EuroLab, we want to demonstrate that we have extended our range and significantly enhanced our capabilities as a member of a large group. We also present the latest edition of our catalogue of our range of products available to our customers. In addition, we have a new catalogue of laboratory reagents – a brand new group of products in our range. We appreciate the fact that the event is an opportunity for our representatives to meet their existing customers from across Poland and establish relationships with prospect customers”, said Piotr Jakubowski from Labart Sp. z o.o., a provider of comprehensive range of laboratory equipment.FPM_6519

The exhibitors included providers of products and services in the field of analytical equipment, chemical reagents, laboratory equipment and control and measurement equipment. EuroLab was also attended by manufacturers and distributors of laboratory accessories, small equipment and laboratory glass, laboratory furniture, optical devices, chemical substances, test kits, laboratory software as well as providers of professional cleaners and protective clothes. During the trade fair, experts available at the stands provided professional consultations and visitors could participate in attractive demonstrations. For our company, the key benefit from the trade fair is that we can arrange our presentations directly at the stand. Contacts established with customers are in large majority the contacts from contact cards collected during such presentations. We reach strictly targeted group of prospects because our presentations are product-focused. By participating in the trade fair, we can win new customers and collect intelligence about prospects who, for example, are planning to upgrade their equipment and are interested in modern products, such as those exhibited at our stand”, explained Justyna Cwyl from Perlan Technologies Polska Sp. z o.o., a provider of analytical equipment.

Research institutes, universities, providers of services for laboratories and certification bodies presented their offers as well. EuroLab is not just a trade fair like other fairs. It is a meeting of the world of science represented by first-class scientists with the world of university teaching represented by professors, lecturers and people responsible for the development of the intellectual potential of laboratory employees. The business exhibitors provide the technology potential. The added value of the event is that people from our industry can meet, talk to each other, enhance their knowledge and insight and get a wider perspective”, said Eugeniusz W. Roguski, Director of the Polish Centre for Accreditation.
